Balwyn Evergreen Centre, a community centre dedicated to ensuring that older individuals stay active, healthy and socially connected, is thrilled to announce the return of its family-friendly Open Day, set for Saturday, March 29, from 10am-2pm.
This free community event is an opportunity for residents of Balwyn and beyond to connect, celebrate and discover the vibrant programs and services that support healthy, happy and socially engaged lives for older Victorians.
Tina Hogarth-Clarke, CEO, Balwyn Evergreen Centre, says, “Our Open Day is all about bringing people together. It’s a chance to showcase everything we offer, from fitness programs to social groups, while also celebrating the wonderful community that makes Balwyn Evergreen such a special place.”
This year’s Open Day will feature a fantastic line-up of activities and entertainment, including:
Exercise class demonstrations - Get moving and see first-hand the benefits of staying active with live exercise class demos throughout the day.
Live music - Enjoy the sounds of talented local musicians creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
Community partner showcase - Meet local organisations and discover valuable services available to support health and wellbeing.
Raffle with fantastic prizes - Try your luck at winning exciting prizes generously donated by local businesses.
Cake stall - Indulge in delicious homemade treats, all lovingly prepared by members of the community.
Sausage sizzle and Devonshire tea - A community event isn’t complete without a classic sausage sizzle and a warm cuppa!
Kids’ activities - Bring the little ones along for a day of fun, including games and interactive experiences.
“We love seeing new faces and welcoming back familiar ones. Whether you are looking to stay active, meet new people or just enjoy a great day out with family, our Open Day has something for everyone,” Tina says.
