We're looking forward to a fun and interactive Open Day on Saturday, March 23, from 10am-2pm at Balwyn Evergreen Centre, 45 Talbot Ave, Balwyn 3103.
This is an opportunity for us to show the wider community who we are and what we do. Not only that, but we also get to share our extended family, of venue hire partners and supporters, with them.
What to expect on the day?
Join us from 10am as we open our doors to the public and welcome the community.
We'll have entertainment to set the mood before a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony performed by a Wurundjeri elder at 11am, followed by formal welcome messages.
Make sure you bring your children and grandchildren because we have Claire's Face Painting from 11.30am-1.30pm. Kids also get a free icy pole and can fuel up at the sausage sizzle. The barbecue also features beef burgers and there's a delicious Devonshire Tea, starring Elise's famous scones, in the Founders Room.
Stay a while and enjoy the variety of demonstrations and performances and check out the market stalls and expo stands from our community partners. Grab yourself a raffle ticket or three and hang around until 1.30pm for the draw - we've got some fabulous prizes on offer donated by our community and local businesses.
Everyone loves a cake stall and ours is adding to the legend of Boroondara's home bakers. Plus Elise made extra scones to go with the delicious spread from our community. We'll also have a bric-a-brac stand with donated treasures for sale. Entry to the Open Day is free but bring some cash/card to spend at our market stalls, on food and raffle tickets. All money raised will go towards our High Tea in October.
