Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme

Providing Friendship and Companionship to Older People

Connecting seniors with volunteers to forge lasting friendships

Balwyn Evergreen has received Australian Government funding to match volunteer visitors with eligible seniors in both residential aged care and at home who are experiencing loneliness and social isolation across Eastern Melbourne.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is a wonderful opportunity for us to help vulnerable members of the community and ease the burden of social isolation, which we know can lead to poor health outcomes. With regular visits, both volunteers and seniors can build meaningful connections and make a real difference in each other's lives.

How does the ACVVS work?

If you're in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs and are looking for either a fulfilling volunteer role or a friendly volunteer visitor, then Balwyn Evergreen can help.

The first step is to get in touch to see if the scheme is the right fit for you. Full training is provided along with ongoing support from our team. We welcome enquiries from all backgrounds.

Perhaps you're feeling lonely or isolated and you'd like to make a new friend.

We can match you or your loved one with a like-minded volunteer who will visit you on a regular basis. The idea is the volunteer becomes a friend and you look forward to spending time together.
