Welcome Helen Anderson to the BEC family! Helen started with us last month as the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) Coordinator and is looking forward to getting this exciting project up and running.
Helen's background is in education and human resources, which makes her perfect for overseeing the nuances of volunteer management and matching volunteers with clients.
"I'm looking forward to building relationships in the local community and to growing the community of volunteers at Balwyn Evergreen," Helen says, adding the ACVVS will "bring joy and connection to volunteers and to older people who are in need of friendship and companionship".
Helen began her working life in retail in country Victoria, then moved into human resources roles in retail and professional services.
Post starting her family (and after a few years living in the UK), she went back to university to study primary teaching.
Most recently, she combined her knowledge and experience in the volunteer management space in the NFP education sector.
Outside of work, Helen likes to spend with her family, walk her dog and explore regional Victoria.
